Sonnet #1

This is a Taylor Swift inspired sonnet that I wrote for my English class in high school.

We walk with interwoven hands so tight, Across the shores of lovestruck fairytales,
In love so much that I think I just might,
Forget all about those expecting veils.

But on one oh so inconspicious day,
With pitchforks they stood ready at our door,
Bewitching us, so hateful for the gay,
Such sinful words that shock us to our core.

And now my eyes leak acid rain on this
Cold pillow where you used to lay your head.
And every night I mourn our long-lost kiss,
Nor filled with feelings of a heart well-bled.

Could we someday eventually be free?
And live a live so fully happily?
